The design brief for these twin luxury townhouses at 23 The Parade St Heliers included many upmarket features such as an internal lifts, a rooftop barbeque-balcony, chandeliers and suspended stairwells.
The foundations, walls and roof were constructed using formwork fabricated on site to the comprehensive design brief provided by the architects and the engineers. Concrete was poured insitu within the customised formwork for each of the 4 stories of the townhouse. All of three living area floors are also concrete as is the rooftop balcony. The robust nature of this home protects it well against water ingress and it will also have the benefit of lower maintenance costs in the future compared to building structures and cladding utilising less durable materials.
Careful scheduling was required to ensure some of the bulky internal fitout structures such as stairwells and kitchens were inserted prior to the windows being fitted. The internal fitout of stairwells, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms was completed once the building was closed in.
The appliances and furnishings installed were reflective of the luxury townhouse design. Each townhouse also included a pocket garden, a double garage for each unit and off-street parking for another two extra vehicles.
The various design, engineer, build and fit out teams involved in the construction of these twin townhouses were very proud to see the project through to completion.
